Aussie Meta are being sued over crypto ads ๐ฆ๐บ๐จ
Meta, the company behind Facebook, is facing legal challenges in both Australia and New York. In Australia, mining tycoon Andrew Forrest is suing Meta for running unauthorized cryptocurrency advertisements featuring him. In New York, Meta is being sued by FTX exchange founder Sam Bankman-Fried for defamation.
The lawsuits highlight the ethical and legal puzzle that tech giants like Meta navigate, especially when crypto-ventures intertwine with personal rights. Meta has been accused of copyright infringement for using the creative works of renowned authors to hone its Large Language Model Meta AI tool - LLaMA.
Andrew Forrest's lawsuit against Meta has raised the stakes, as he is seeking criminal charges against the company. Meta has also been criticised for demanding personal communications from Forrest as part of the discovery process.
Satoshi returns to X? ๐ฏ๐ต ๐ง๐ปโ๐ป
The Twitter account @Satoshi, which claims to belong to the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, has broken its silence after four years.
The account's first post since 2018 promised to delve into important Bitcoin issues that were overlooked in the original white paper. However, some experts have expressed scepticism about the account's authenticity and warned users against interacting with any links shared by the account.
โBitcoin is a predicate machine. Over the following months, we shall explore different aspects that were not explicitly contained within the white paper. These aspects are all parts of bitcoin, and are important. Some of these ideas were touched upon in the early years; now is the time to extrapolate and explain.โ
Despite the uncertainty, the reappearance of @Satoshi has generated a lot of buzz in the cryptocurrency community. Many people are eager to learn more about the account holder's identity and what they have to say about Bitcoin.

Investors drop lawsuit against Terraform & Do Kwon โ ๐ฉ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Do Kwon, aka the โKing of the lunaticsโ, is likely smiling like a lunatic thanks to the dropped lawsuit. A class-action lawsuit against Terraform Labs and its co-founder, Do Kwon, has been voluntarily withdrawn by investors.
โRight now, my role in the crypto industry is a little polarising. Because, you know, we've been making a lot of big moves. And that ruffles some feathers.โ
-Kwon, Bloomberg interview
The lawsuit was filed in June 2022 after the collapse of Terraform Labs, which triggered a significant cryptocurrency market downturn. The reason for the withdrawal is unclear, but it comes at a time when Kwon is facing a number of legal challenges, including a civil lawsuit from the US Securities and Exchange Commission and an arrest warrant from South Korea.
In March 2023, Kwon was arrested in Montenegro on charges of using falsified travel documents. He was later released on bail, but it is unclear whether he will be extradited to the US or South Korea.
